This October, Building Green CPH returns with its 2025 event theme “Scaling for Enough,” a two-day event filled with internationally-recognized speakers, exploring sufficiency, justice, and sustainable transformation in the built environment. Held October 29–30 at Lokomotivværkstedet, the event dives deep into the names and narratives that fuel the vanguard of progressive architecture, bringing forward new voices, tangible tools, and cutting-edge perspectives from across the construction value chain.
Mental wealth: speakers from across the design spectrum
Recognizing that a change in mentality precedes a shift in materiality, Building Green’s diverse selection of speakers include: Laura Storm, Founder of Regenerators: on regenerative leadership and systemic change; Anupama Kundoo, Architect & Professor at TU Berlin: on sufficiency and material-conscious design; and Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, Co-Founder of Snøhetta: on cultural and ecological responsibility in architecture.
“We are in the midst of a paradigm shift, where construction can move from being part of the problem to becoming a key player in restoring both our inner and outer ecosystems.”
— Laura Storm, Author & Founder, Regenerators
Action in the now
Building Green CPH 2025 introduces Action Space, a dedicated stage designed by emerging practitioners, hands-on changemakers, and grassroots leaders. This space rejects buzzwords and distant visions, focusing on concrete action and lived experience. Attendees can engage in candid conversations with those working on the ground to drive systemic transformation.
What is ‘enough’?
The event also aims to interrogate the dominant narratives of growth and profit by asking: When is “enough” enough? And how do we move beyond conventional notions of growth to scale solutions that are equitable, ecological, and accessible? Panels will feature experts in regenerative leadership, social justice, affordable housing, and material equity.
Instead of looking only to high-profile architects, the program spotlights voices often excluded from mainstream architecture: practitioners, local policymakers, community architects, and innovators who work across disciplines and boundaries, forging spaces beyond siloed thinking.
Why This Matters
In an era of climate emergencies, rising inequality, and material scarcity, the built environment must redefine success. Building Green CPH is committed to elevating not just what we can build, but what we should build. Scaling for Enough is about doing better instead of relentlessly chasing more.
