Innofor Finland, or Innofor for short, is a private forest management and timber consultancy company founded in 2007 working mainly in the EU. Their main office is in Tampere, Finland. They carry out a variety of forest management and timber purveying services from land purchases to forest management planning to logging.
The company is known for innovations in non-clearcut forms of forest management, improving forests’ carbon sequestration, and – increasingly – consulting businesses on biodiversity impact compensation issues. Clients range from institutional investors of tens of thousands of hectares to smallholders.
KEY DEVELOPER OF THE MOST SUSTAINABLE TIMBER IN THE WORLD
On 24th September 2025 in the EU Parliament Innofor led a partnership of scientists, NGOs and businesses in unveiling the world’s first ecological certified forest management system – the AEFC. The EU Commission has long been worried about biodiversity loss and EU Member States falling behind their carbon sequestration targets in forests. The AEFC management system is the only one to meet the EU criteria for Closer-to-Nature Forestry and its launch was enthusiastically greeted by the Commission’s speaker. Innofor offers AEFC forest certification and purveys its timber, which trades as EverCover™.

EVERCOVER IS THE KEY TO TRULY SUSTAINBLE CONSTRUCTION, FURNITURE AND PAPER
EverCover timber is the only timber sourced exclusively from non-clearcut forests with a 10% strict set-aside requirement. Forests of High Conservation Value are not harmed at all. In managed stands, more dead wood and retention trees are left than in other management systems. Non-clearcut forestry retains biodiversity, improves carbon uptake and – not least – leaves forests intact for local people and non-timber uses. Created and endorsed by top ecologists and forestry professionals, this is the timber the world needs.
