ACT NOW!

Everyone is talking about the urgent need to turn the construction industry around. We talk too much and do too little. We are facing an acute climate crisis for which the construction industry bears a large part of the responsibility. We have the solutions and the knowledge of what needs to be done, but how do we get from talking to doing?

At Building Green Hamburg you will learn more about the problems that nature and the climate are facing and the starting points with which we can really make a difference in order to significantly reduce the climate footprint of construction. The entry points have great potential and if we can bring about change in these areas, we can make a difference and make progress.

You will look at how we can work with the square metres we already have and learn about the possibilities and potential of existing buildings. You will be inspired by speakers from Germany and abroad who have a great insight into urban development and knowledge of more sustainable building materials and experience with the reuse of components and building materials. You will also look at how we can create healthy cities that are equipped for the future challenges of increasing urbanisation and the demand for more sustainable behaviour.

Get inspiration and the latest knowledge on sustainable construction

During the two days, you can experience an extensive program with inspiring speakers and interesting debates, and you can be inspired by innovative solutions for green construction. You get the latest knowledge on sustainable construction and architecture.

Jens Kerstan, Senator für Umwelt, Klima, Energie und Agrarwirtschaft der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg

“There is great potential for climate protection in the construction sector. Energy and costs can be saved, while avoiding CO2 emissions at the same time without having to give up comfort or well-being later. The use of sustainable materials is an important element for this. Between modern architecture and ecological awareness in the construction sector, great symbioses can develop that also help the climate. We are therefore pleased to be able to support Building Green, an event that has been evolving since 2011 and is also coming to Hamburg this year. The event can enable an exciting exchange for experts and the people of Hamburg and make an impact.”
