What it Building Green
Building Green is a community for professionals with an interest in sustainable construction that brings together everyone from architects, builders, suppliers, craftsmen and urban planners about the important dialogues that can create the necessary green change in construction. Among other things, we are behind Building Green Copenhagen, the Nordic region's largest event in sustainable construction with 8,000 participants over two days. We also organize Building Green Aarhus, and conferences such as Build in Wood, Build for Biodiversity, Biobaserede Byggematerialer, Bæredygtig Transformation, Build for Water og Bæredygtig Byggeproces..
In addition to events for the construction industry, we have a digital platform Building Green Together, where we share interviews, news, podcasts and articles from exciting suppliers. As a team, we are passionate about changing the construction industry in a greener direction, and we believe that sustainable construction plays an important role in the fight against climate change.
Building Green is owned by a private conference company called Insight Events with an office in inner Copenhagen. Below you can read a little more in-depth about all our activities with a focus on sustainable construction.

Sustainable construction and architecture in the center
After the Danish general election in 2019, the climate debate and the climate fight are seriously on the agenda. The debate is in full swing both in Denmark and in the rest of the world. The construction industry is also part of the debate, and it faces a major challenge in relation to the climate right now. We build and build, we tear down and we build again. It is estimated that up to 40% of the world's total emission of CO2 comes from the construction industry and up to 20% from the production of building materials. The new government has climate policy at the top of the agenda, and we now have a climate, energy and supply minister, an environment minister and, after many years, a housing minister who can put the climate and the construction industry on the agenda.
Green and sustainable buildings should be a matter of course
Denmark's CO2 targets were and remain ambitious, but there is a long way to go. The long-term vision is that all new buildings must produce more energy than they consume, and at the same time the energy consumption in the existing building stock must be significantly reduced. Everywhere, the visions are being turned into reality – the possibilities are real, but there are still many challenges and questions that need to be answered before we reach the goal. Denmark is at the front on this track. Many of the companies and initiators have already managed to turn the visions into reality and create sustainable solutions that reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions from buildings.
