Invitation: Launch – Building equity: Housing as a key to a low-carbon society

The need to redefine how we develop housing and deliver value for people while staying within the planetary boundaries has never been more urgent. The real estate sector is increasingly innovating on climate, but the industry faces significant challenges in addressing the S – and with limited carbon budgets and housing unaffordability turning inequality into a systemic risk.

Over the first six months of 2024, BLOXHUB, in collaboration with ULI and the Laudes Foundation, convened pan-European industry voices to gather their insights on barriers and opportunities within social value in housing. Together we explored how to create agency for action. We are excited to share our findings and invite you to join us on October 23rd from 08:30 to 10:30.

At the event the two international organizations C40 and The Shift will also share new work from the perspective of cities and investors – with The Shift’s founder Leilani Farha (former United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing (2014-2020)) joining to launch their new Investor Guidelines. While Danish developers will share their work on how to use housing as a tool to drive decarbonisation within Europe.

All guests will receive a copy of the publication “Building equity: Housing as a key to a low-carbon society”- to delve deeper into key findings, opportunities, and barriers to unlocking social value in housing.

We hope to see you in what we believe is an exciting and urgently needed initiative!
