About Session

Wood is a traditional building material. However, in contemporary architecture large public buildings made of wood are still an exception. New wooden buildings are often produced with the logic of a concrete building without understanding the properties of wood and the possibilities it offers. At Lundén they have been developing wooden structures from small-scale domes to 20,000m2 public buildings. In the core of their thinking is the idea of creating architecture that emerges from the inherent qualities of timber. This talk opens their thinking behind the development of our timber structures and architectural experimentations.
